Owner/President of company forgot to sign incorporation papers, so I did. Do I now own the company?
I am an employee and dropped of the incorporation/reincorporation papers. Owner did not sign incorporation papers so I had to. Do I now own the company or legally have any power I previously did not have? Just wanted to find out before I started making changes. Thanks!

- No, actually, the papers are invalid, unless you are a legal signing officer of the company. If you are, you have no more ownership than you ever did.
- uh....no
- No, you do not now own the corporation. On what basis would you have an ownership interest? All you did was sign the paperwork required by the state to incorporate the business. That's it. To own the corporation, you would have stock certificates issued indicating the number of shares that you own. Simply signing incorporation documents grants you no rights at all. I would be more concerned that the corporation was validly formed. If you did not have the authority to sign as the incorporator, it may be subject to challenge.
