In the process of amending 2007 income returns I efiled and received notice the State is performing an audit!?

I just e-filed my state and fed returns. I came across information that was not included in the returns and was in the process of filing an amendment when, today's mail brought a notice from the state that they are performing an audit on the return that was submitted. We are due a refund and the form states it is a "desk audit" What do we do?

1. You complete the amended returns and submit them. A desk audit means that the computer kicked your return out and someone will be sending you mail to ask for more documentation for certain items on your tax return. If you have all W-2s, all receipts, no biggie. Just fax them in when requested.
